--Mictlan, hell of Aztec mythology--

Lower layer of the Aztec infraworld, located to the north. Place characterized by the shady thing, the humidity of the surroundings and its demoralizing atmosphere. Pertaining to a true labyrinth of really frightful chaos, layers and levels.

It is governed by the God Mictlantecuhtli, being this one the king of deads and his Mictecacihuatl wife. Both live together in a house without windows.

All the deads had to go to Mictlán, with the exception of the people who died by a ray, the soldiers fallen in the battle and the women who perished when having descendants.

In order to accede to the infraworld, the deads had to walk during four long years below the Earth, always accompanied by a dog, which was incinerated next to the corpse. Also in the trip they were helped by the binocular of Quetzalcóatl, the God Xolotl.
