--Azi Dahaka, dragoon of Persian mythology--


Azi Dahaka, also Zahhak call (in avéstico, great serpent), is a dragoon or demonic figure, which makes appearance in texts and Persian zoroastric mythology.

Monster, species of hydra, created by Mainu Angra also called Ahriman, God of the dark and eternal destroyer of the good.

Dahaka incarnates the total corruption. It is described like a similar monster to a dragoon, equipped with three heads, six eyes and three mouths with three pairs of eyeteeth. They say that their wings are so gigantic and extraordinary that they could block to the very same sun. It has thousand senses to bleed scorpions, slippery serpents and other poisonous beings.

It has the capacity to handle storms and to distribute diseases. It attacked the men and it robbed its cattle. Thraetaona call was defeated by the Feridun hero or also, but Dahaka could not be assassinated, so it was decided to tie it with strong chains to the Damavand mountain. Nevertheless it was destined to save and when arriving the aim from the world to destroy the humanity before being assassinated.
